Like the topic above, this paper seeks to revisit the events that caused and impacted military governments. Considering that during the authoritarian regimes that devastated Latin America in the 1960s and 1970s, a process of democratic resistance began in various social spheres, including various actors and social institutions. This process was fundamental for the weakening and end of military regimes in several countries, as well as for the mobilizations and conquests that followed: the reorganization of political parties, the trade union movement and the student movement, the resurgence of civil pressures for the punishment of for the military and for the official recognition of the dead and disappeared during the regime, the popular demands in the context of the economic recession, among other struggles that marked the return to the Rule of Law
in many countries of our continent.
